Hawai'i Green Collar Institute Workshop on Aquaponics for Leeward O'ahu Teachers
March 2, April 27, August 24, 2013
Aquaponics (aquaculture combined with hydroponics) is a great
vehicle to achieve learning targets for students of all ages. In this workshop
series, you will be “immersed” in learning about various types of
aquaponic systems and building a small unit for your school (valued at
>$200). Training to operate it is included along with time to develop and
share lesson plans that support environmental and STEM education. This
session of HGCI is conducted by Mālama Learning Center in partnership with the
Hawaiʻi State Teachers Association. Funding for this program is made possible
by grants from the Nā Lei Aloha Foundation and Synagro.
